The Maid of the Loch is under a 5-minute drive from Loch Lomond Hotel.

The Maid of the Loch is a spectacular example of Clyde-build ship engineering with a magnificent art deco inspired interior. The Maid is the last paddle steamer to be built in the UK, and is the last remaining example of an “Up an Doon” Vessel in the UK! The ship could carry up to 1,000 passengers and was the biggest paddle steamer to sail on Loch Lomond. During the Maids 28 years on the water, celebrities and royal guests boarded the ship. The Maid hosted all kinds of events including dates, engagements, weddings and wakes.

The ship is moored on the shores of Loch Lomond at Balloch Pier and is open to the public every weekend from Easter to the end of October.

As well as exploring the main attraction – the Maid of the Loch – you can also explore all the things the locale has to offer such as a sea life aquarium, bike and canoe hire, woodland walks, beautiful country park and shopping.
